Counterpoise Press is a traditional publishing house dedicated to publishing diverse books across a multitude of genres. We seek works that will entertain and inspire readers of all ages and backgrounds. Books have the ability to change lives, and we want to put our books into the hands of readers who will love them.

Counterpoise Press was founded in 2020 by author Hannah Parker. After experiencing aspects of both traditional and self publishing, Hannah realized she wanted something different—something that combined the best parts of both.
Here at Counterpoise we want to take the high-quality works of traditional publishing and blend it with the freedom and control of self-publishing. We believe in forging our own path to publishing while constantly striving to better ourselves and our business. We are not pay to publish, and only accept books that we are passionate about.
Above all, we are committed to publishing diverse works by diverse authors.

Counterpoise Press is a traditional publishing house. You never have to pay to publish with us. Your book must be accepted by us for publication. Please review submission guidelines carefully before submitting. You can find more about our submission guidelines here.

Meet The Owner
Hi, I'm Hannah Parker.
I write books to make people feel less alone. I started Counterpoise Press after a multitude of publishing internships because I wasn't happy with many of the aspects of traditional and self publishing. I liked the credibility and quality brought about by traditional publishing, but I didn't like how little authors were involved. I liked the freedom of self publishing, but found it incredibly isolating. Above all, I know how it feels to be an author in the world of publishing. It's my goal to make my publishing house collaborative—you retain as much creative control as possible. I want to work with you as a partner to help your book come to life.
